What Is Qlambu ?
Qlambu is derived from the Indonesian word “kelambu” which means a mosquito net put on the sleeping bed. This was basically a traditional way how people protects from mosquito bite when sleeping. Therefore, qlambu implies something related to an accommodation with a traditional touch. In more general sense, qlambu offers information about traditional and affordable accommodation but clean and environmentally friendly.
The word “kelambu” sometime is also used by village people to abbreviate the two words “kelapa” and “bambu” which means coconut and bamboo, respectively.
This mostly used by the villager to indicate a house which is constructed from coconut wood and bamboo. It again very traditional but in some cases very artistic and environmentally sound. Therefore, qlambu also offers information about traditional art works and handicrafts made from but not limited to coconut and bamboo materials.
